Greer in decay.

The sounds of baseball have faded,  the crack of the bat, the smell of hot dogs and burgers, and the laughter of kids enjoying a Saturday afternoon game are long gone. All that remains is the hum of the city around the stadium, the honking of cars and the occasional train.

This Friday we received an email from an anonymous source loaded with pictures of the current state of Greer stadium. Love it or hate it, Greer stadium played a very important role in Nashville sports history, unfortunately it now lays in ruins. It seems after the Sounds played their final game they gutted the place of valuables and just left it there to rot.

As of right now the fate of Greer is uncertain, everything from renovating it to be a soccer stadium to bulldozing it and building condos has been rumored. All I know is you deserve to get at least one last look at your childhood ball park. I’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.
