Best Worst & Probable | 2017-18 Nashville Predators Prediction

What a glorious run our boys in gold had last year, growing up I never thought I would get to witness my team play in the Stanley Cup Final. It was an amazing experience and this team is only going to get better….right? Well, lets talk about the best worst and most probable situations for Nashville in 2017-18.

Best case scenario

The game 6 loss sticks with the players, coaches, and fans. We celebrate the raising of the Western Conference Champions banner in the moment, but deep down everyone in that building is pissed off with how the run ended. With the pain of last season in everyones mind the Predators play angry in the home opener vs the Flyers and absolutely demolish them. In this scenario I predict a 7-0 slaughter which includes a 5 maybe 6 goals by the JOFA line.

This momentum lasts for the majority of the season, the Preds win an impressive 10+ straight games to open the season and never lose back to back games all the way to the all star break. Forsberg leads the league in goals and cements himself as THE superstar among the new generation of NHLers.

The fans are FANTASTIC, every game is a sell out (obviously) and the cellblock is louder, crazier, and more creative than ever before. With such a large demand, tickets are hard to come by and the outdoor viewing parties start in the last month of the REGULAR season.

In this situation the playoffs are still extremely difficult, I think the Preds definitely make the WCF but its a coin toss at that point. 50/50 chance to win the WCF and if they do I give them a 50/50 chance to win the Cup.

Worst case scenario

The Preds are still hurt, and tired.

Ellis is out until December, maybe January.

In this situation the start of the season is extremely difficult for the boys in gold. Wins are hard to come by and the team doesn’t really get into a rhythm until the 20 game mark. Even with the difficult start they manage to hover in and out of the last wildcard spot until the start of the 2018.

Even in the worst case scenario I don’t see this team missing the playoffs, and if they do its a close race until the final game. If and when they make the playoffs it will be a early exit, I expect a loss in game 7 of the 1st round.

What will probably happen

The Preds struggle early, but never lose more than two games in a row. Just like last year after a couple of months we are wondering why this team isn’t playing as well as it should. They aren’t BAD, but they aren’t really good either.

The Preds get hot in the last 3 months of the season and much like last season it carries over to the playoffs. They easily win the first round but after that it gets extremely difficult. I think there is a real chance we make it back to the western conference final but I am unsure if we can win it again. It will go to 6 or 7 games and if the final game is played in Nashville I say its a coin flip, if not I think we lose and miss the return trip to the Finals.

Regardless of what happens on the ice, Preds fans will support the boys in gold the only way we know how.

LOUD!
