Agüero Breaks Manchester City Goal Scoring Record

November 1, 2017. Sergio Agüero scored his 178th goal, breaking the goal scoring record for Manchester City, becoming the club’s all time leading goal scorer, breaking a record that stood for over 70 years which was set by Eric Brook.

Coming directly off of a Napoli corner, City were on the counter attack instantly with Leroy Sané bursting through Napoli’s defence before passing back and allowing Agüero to slot home in the 69th minute.

Since signing for City in July 2011 from Atletico Madrid, Agüero has scored 129 Premier League goals, 14 FA Cup goals, 4 League Cup goals and 31 Champions League goals. His most notable goal coming in the final minutes of the last match of his first season at City, securing the Premier League Title from Manchester United.
